Viscount Envoy 35 S with speakers

The Parish Church of All Saints, Barwick in Elmet. August 2019

The Parish Church of All Saints

Barwick in Elmet

The Church had an ailing electonic organ in excess of 30 years old. The Anthony Bogdan Organs Engineer tried manfully to revive it but after three visits it was pronounced un-fixable.

Anthony himself was called over to advise on the next course of action and the members of the church visited Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church,Burley in Wharfdale Anthony met them there to demostrate the organ and to advise. It was decided on that sortie to recommend to the PCC a Viscount Envoy with 35 speaking stops voiced to the building

All Saints Church did the job in stages with the new organ first then fundraising for a 'state of the art' speaker system. The old speakers were in the side aisles. The arches were keeping the sound in, infact the organist could bearly hear the swell division

Anthony decided the new speakers would be best in the clerestory where they could accompany the choir clearly and support the congregation.

Martyne White writes

The organ was well received by the choir and congregation this morning. The organ had the brightness I was looking for, especially in the hymns. In addition, the mini swell you showed me on Thursday was a delight to use at various points in the service.

I could hear both the choir and congregation very clearly this morning, unusually, I could hear all the different parts sung by the choir, The choir told me that they could now hear the organ and it encouraged them to sing.

I played with the knowledge that the organ is quieter in its position as opposed to the main body of the church. As the congregation were happy, I am ok with the fact that the overall volume is correct.

Thanks
