Discussions between Anthony
Bogdan Organs Ltd. and Maclolm Bush commenced in December 2008.
Malcolm made it clear he was not looking for an organ 'out of a
box.' He had very definite ideas about the stop list and Malcolm
wanted a stop list which would suit the English Romantic
Compositions but be eclectic enough to play French music and Bach.
After the design and installation of the organ
Malcolm writes..............
Dear, Anthony
I want to take this opportunity of thanking you again for all the
help and support you have given to me regarding my purchase of the
Viscount Prestige 80.
It has been very exciting to have the opportunity of having a
digital organ specially customised and I thank you for all the time
you gave to this task. It was also good to discuss specifications
and individual stops as well with you. Your experience as an
organist and your expertise at pipe and digital organ design has
been greatly appreciated.
Having heard a number of pipe organs and having the opportunity to
play some fine church organs, I therefore wanted my own home
cathedral organ to resemble them in many respects. For example, the
violoncello stop you chose on the choir division is superb and is
perfect for the solo in Thalban-Ball's Elegy. It sounds just like a
recording I have from St. Paul's in London. With your help my choir
division is such that I have the benefit of sub divisions of Solo,
English Choir Organ and Positive. The Viola D'Amour I chose with the
Voix Celeste on the swell division is perfect for quiet and
sensitive music as and when needed in services - similar to the
organ I sometimes play nearby.
It is clearly evident that I shall continue to discover more and
more pleasing sounds as I get used to this instrument in the comfort
of my home.
Thank you again for your interest, your commitment and attention you
gave to me during my whole experience of purchasing my digital
organ. Thank you for your reassurance that you are there to help
should I need to ask for further assistance.
