There was a pipe organ in Our lady Star of the
sea years ago. Regrettably a central heating system caused damage to
the action soundboards.
When Anthony Bogdan arrived it had been
completely removed and all the site 'made good' by plastering and
decoration. Mosignor Turner asked Anthony to make recommendations
and after the usual questions about choral tradition and general
musical tradition it was obvious a three manual was needed.
Anthony recommended the new Viscount Physis Envoy
350 FV. It has a melamine console which saves considerably on the
price of the veneered console.
It was arranged for a local joiner to erect
speaker shelves and whilst the scaffolding was there Anthony placed
and wired the units. All was then ready for the arrival of the
console.
As you can see from the picture below a hoist was
used to get the console onto the balcony. Monsignor Turner is
watching with bated breath.

The sound of a church organ now fills
Our Lady Star of the Sea Ian Curley the organist is delighted with
the sound as are the congregation. The whole job was 'brought in'
for just under fifteen thousand pounds and the technology is the
very latest Viscount Physical Modelling. An excellent result.
The Organist, Ian Curley BA (Hons)
writes.............Since
the installation and voicing I've had a chance to explore the
instrument and quickly generated some very positive responses from
the congregation as to the quality of the instrument.
I did appreciate your courtesy and consideration in coming to
Mass to actually show me how to function in a live environment soon
after the installation. Your service is quite exceptional in this
day and age. Next stop is a wedding on the
28th October with Handel's Water Music and I'll be exploiting all of
the organs versatility to blow them down the aisle! Thank you for
everything you've been God send.
